Selectie en screening

When you choose to work with Au Pair Belgium , we will schedule an appointment with you and we will interview you to learn more about your expectations regarding your ideal au pair. During this meeting you will receive extensive information about the legal obligations and the selection process and placement procedure for an au pair.

We will ask you to complete an application form and to have completed a reference form by a close friend of your family. Once this is done, we can start the search for and selection of an appropriate au pair. We will present you at least three candidates that meet your requests. These candidates have been srutinously selected and thoroughly screened by us beforehand. Our local agents and recognised national and international organisations assist us herewith.

We will provide you with an extensive information package about each candidate and some photos. This information package consists amongst others of the following documents:

  • a duly completed reference form verified by an Au Pair Belgium representative
  • at least one childcare reference form verified by an Au Pair Belgium representative
  • current health status verified by the au pair’s physician
  • a criminal background check

These documents will also inform you about the childcare experience and skills of the au pair and the au pair’s lifestyle, interests, family and education.

We will allow you to communicate with the candidates who are presented to you directly so as to get to know them better before you make any commitment to become their host family. Once you have chosen your preferred candidate, we can start the placement procedure.

We advise you and commit ourselves to make the placement process crisp and clear and make it run smoothly. Together with you we will collect all required documents and complete your application file and file it with the competent authorities. We follow up the good process of your file and we will do our utmost to place the au pair as soon as possible in your family.
